Auto Home Repair – Business Magazine

Chance encounters defined the starting FixMyCar. Founder Prashant Salla hired a Craigslist mechanic for an emergency repair in 2018, which sparked the idea of ââan auto repair service coming to you.
After developing the online business and the corresponding mobile app that takes the auto repair out of the machine shop and puts it in the customer’s aisle, Salla needed funding. Following a conversation with a stranger at Bab’s Underground in Ann Arbor, an investment was secured.
âI literally just ran into this guy at the bar, ordering beer,â Salla says.
It didn’t take long for FixMyCar to launch as an aisle vehicle repair service that benefits consumers both because of its convenience – no more planning trips to and from repair shops or waiting an hour for an oil change – and offering prices up to 30% lower than dealers.
The service currently operates in Detroit, Dallas and Houston, and nationwide service will be available in the future. Additionally, Salla says that an annual membership program is being launched.
In addition to routine maintenance, FixMyCar mechanics offer a range of services, including battery replacement and power window repairs. âIt changes the way people think about auto repair and allows them to take control of the health of their vehicle,â says Salla. “The auto repair space is ripe for disruption.”
